The artwork for this sampler was created by Stacey McEvoy Caunt and the embroidery was created by Robin Ilex Studio & Flowing Fibres.
Robin (he/they) is a trans hand embroidery artist with ADHD based in Scotland. They create pieces inspired by nature, football, music and politics. When not stitching, you can find him playing football, at the cinema or birdwatching. With Robin Ilex Studio, he also tries to create everything as sustainably as possible, using remnant fabrics, seaglass and more in their work, as well as using visible mending techniques on clothing. They especially love creating texture with thread, and have incorporated this into the stitches chosen for this design.
£5 from the sale of each kit will be donated to Pastel Project.
The Pastel Project is a trans-led volunteer organisation that was set up to oppose the continued attack against trans lives in the UK and to promote trans and gender diverse lives and acceptance in society. We are working with local community groups, businesses and government to further our goals and create what we have come to call the country’s first “Sanctuary City” in Nottingham.
